The energetics of achieving your big dreams. Master your mindset, emotions and your energy. I am so excited to dive into this episode with you today, because what if achieving your biggest dreams was less about doing more and more about mastering your energy? Look, I know this is not your first rodeo or rodeo, as we say it in the town I grew up in where there is actually a rodeo, the variable rodeo.

And Intellectually, we know we don't need to work harder to grow our businesses. We hear people say it all the time. I'm sure you've heard it on many different podcasts, but when it comes down to it, this is actually one of the biggest challenges. Many. of my clients work through. And it's one of the reasons they'll often work with me.

They want to grow their business without working more hours. Now, sometimes we may end up working more hours in the short term if we are wanting to grow our business, because we might be creating new things. There might be a lot of updating and creating that we are doing behind the scenes. But we're not wanting to work harder as a long term strategy.

We're not wanting to do Endless hours working with our clients. We're not wanting it to be that I've been working with a lot more people. I would have to be working many more hours in order to do that. And so there is some strategic thinking that we need to do in here to really understand what that is going to look like.

And we're also going to be rewiring our mindset. And we're going to be leaning into energetics to create more ease, more magnetism, and to also think differently about how we Do things. We really want to see that the way we do things is our choice and that we are able to change that we are able to upgrade it.

And we also want to be supporting ourselves. And this can be reflected in the way we treat ourselves, in the way we are speaking to ourselves, the way we respond when something goes wrong, or we feel like this big goal that we have is currently totally out of reach, or we feel like we're not making progress towards it.

How are we with ourselves in those moments? In last week's podcast episode, we looked at this topic of big dreams and breaking those big dreams down and exactly how we can do that. So we know where to focus our energy and our actions right now. And this week. We are focusing on the energetics and what that really looks like.

Strategy can get us onto the right path. We want to be doing that strategic thinking. But our energy is what keeps us moving forward. No matter what challenges arise. And our energy is what our clients are connecting with. And so we're wanting to keep our vibration, our energy, in a high vibration space where possible.

And we're going to talk about what that looks like without having to force yourself to feel happy or positive all the time. If your energetic approach to achieving your big dreams looks a bit like putting your income goal as your password. Year after year, it's the same number and it doesn't seem to move, or you're just stuck trying to feel high vibe about your goal, even though you are not getting any closer.

You are going to love this episode and wherever you're at in moving towards your big dreams, I want you to know there is some Reiki for you at the end of this episode to really support you to elevate and expand. Spanned into that big dream that you desire to create. So what exactly are we going to be talking about today?

The energetics of achieving your big dreams. Let me take you through it and then we'll break it down. Number one, we're going to talk about the importance of dealing with your emotions. Number two, we'll look at the place of nervous system regulation in this. Number three, we're talking about identity.

We're going to want to step into the identity of the version of ourselves who has created what we desire, rather than feeling like it is some far off fantasy that somebody else is going to be creating, when in reality, it's going to be us. We are going to be the person who has achieved it. Number four, holding your vision lightly.

We want to respond rather than react. And number five, shift your frequency. So let's dive in. Number one, deal with your emotions. I get to have so many conversations with entrepreneurial women who are really going after some big dreams. And it can be that big dream is quite a distance from where we are now.

It can really trigger us in relation to what it is that we're going to need to do, how visible we may need to be, what other people might think about that level. of success that we desire to create, we can have fear come up, doubt, frustration. And there are just so many different emotions that we might experience as we are on that pathway.

And we don't want to fear these emotions that come up, but we want to be able to feel like we can acknowledge them. And have ways to process these emotions and then move forward. Sometimes when we have a bigger emotion coming up, like fear, it can cause us to doubt and question, is this the right goal for us?

If I'm feeling like this, is this really meant for me? Now, If you tune into your intuition over time and that's how you feel, then yes, maybe it is time to re examine your bigger goal and make a different choice. But just fear, feeling fear in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean anything. It just means that we are feeling challenged.

One of the things that you can do, which is so simple, is to So fill in to your goal and what it is that you're desiring to create that big dream. So just thinking about that for yourself now, what is the big dream that you want to create in your business? And then noticing at this point in time, are there any emotions that come up?

And if there are, just naming them. So it could be, I feel anxious, or I feel doubtful. I feel nervous. And so we would just be naming those different emotions. Now what I sometimes find that when the dream is just in the world of the dream, it's just a distant goal that you have, honestly, you might think about it and you might think, I feel.

I feel totally fine about this goal. I don't have any emotion about it. And that's great, but it doesn't necessarily mean that you are fully aligned with it. It just might not be that you have yet challenged yourself in the ways that you may end up being challenged in pursuit of that goal. And so what I would like you to do in that instance is just to notice in the future, if you are taking action, In relation to your goals, perhaps you're becoming more visible, you're doing things that scare you, you're doing the things that do not feel easy, and emotion comes up for you then, reassure yourself, this is just a part of the process.

It doesn't necessarily mean anything. And in fact, sometimes it can be a really good sign that we are actually stretching ourselves and challenging ourselves in meaningful ways. are going to create some traction, are going to create some momentum in relation to our bigger goal. So we want to ask ourselves, does this feeling feel productive?

What's on the other side of this? And as I say, that first step is acknowledging it. And then if you have an emotion that is really strong, Even after you have acknowledged it, you could take it a step further and ask yourself, where is this emotion in my body? And you might then place your hands over that body part.

And you could ask yourself, what does this feeling need right now? Does it need rest? Does it need release? Does it need reassurance? Beautiful. Let's move on now to number two. Regulate your nervous system. Our big dreams really can activate so much within us. You might find if the dream is big enough and it's going to demand something of you that you have not yet done.

Version of you that you have not yet been, you might find a fight or flight response is activated, especially when things get uncertain, because being in the dreaming space can be quite lovely, but after that dreaming space, when we start to take action. And so if you're not sure of those actions to take, of course, you'll go back to last week's podcast episode and there is a worksheet there for you, which you can download and use to get your plan down on paper.

So you can, exactly what actions you are going to be taking. And so we might then find like things are feeling uncertain now that I'm in the. action phase. And we can find that we're going one way or the other. Our nervous system can get deregulated when we're feeling too stressed, too fearful, too worried about what's happening, what might happen.

It might be, the reality of where I am now is so far away from that. So that can be dysregulating. But on the other side of things, if you were to achieve your goal in full, right now, I want you to imagine that's happened, so you have this big goal, imagine you've achieved it, right now, it's arrived.

For many people, if they're really honest with themselves and really allow themselves to feel into that, that can feel quite dysregulating as well, can feel too much. It might be that comes with More attention, more feedback, more communication, more requirements for staff and outsourcing. There's more money and then you need to know what to do with the money and so on.

Some of these problems don't sound like bad problems to have, but in reality. They can be a little destabilizing or even a lot destabilizing, especially if that success comes quite quickly. And so we want to regulate on either end of the spectrum. When things happen that we do not want or we are feeling doubt or we're feeling fear, we want to be Breathing into that and neutralizing that, not with a view to getting rid of those feelings, but to being with ourselves as we are feeling those feelings, understanding this can be a part of the process.

And also, the more regulated that we are. The better the decisions that we're able to make about how it is that we are moving forward. And so breathing is something I definitely recommend. And you might look into an app like Insight Timer, find some breath work practices there or on a different app. And experiment with using your breath to regulate yourself.

Equally, on the other side of the equation, you might feel excited, but you might feel overwhelmed as well at what comes with achieving. I'm going to be talking about the big leap. hit a bigger goal or what comes when something really great happens in your business and then you feel so wobbly and then people can call it hitting up against an upper limit.

And that obviously comes from the book, The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. And when we hit up a bigger goal. against an upper limit, we might sabotage ourselves. And this is really because we are not feeling regulated. This is not feeling normal. And essentially, we're bringing ourselves back down to a space where we feel more comfortable, more at home.

We did not feel comfortable with things feeling that good, with that amount of time. Success or happiness, or it can even just be a fleeting moment, like a big sale comes through or multiple sales in a short space of time, or you can really see, Oh my gosh, I'm on track. This is really coming together.

And when we are not regulated around that. That's when we can, yeah, have a little bit of chaos ensue and we can deal with that in the exact same way with our breath. And so you could just place your hands at your stomach right now, your solar plexus area. And you might like to, if you're able to close your eyes just for a moment.

And let's find examples from either end of the spectrum. So first of all, finding an example of something that could cause you stress in your business, or doubt, or fear, or a time you felt like that. And then pick up a time that something really great happened, or several great things happened, and that felt a bit dysregulating as well.

And now, With those hands still at your solar plexus, just allowing yourself to breathe slowly and calmly and just being with yourself and the awareness that each of these things on either side of the spectrum felt dysregulating in the moment, but you are able to regulate around them. Right now, by holding them in your awareness, you don't need to continue to actively think about them, but you have activated the energy.

And now as you are slowly and calmly breathing without force, without strain, you are regulating. It can be as simple as that. Can release your hands. If your eyes are closed, you can open them. Number three, to achieve those bigger goals and work with the energetics, you want to step into the identity of the version of you who has created this.

And so if you think about that bigger goal that you have and imagine yourself having achieved it, I wonder if you're able to gain a visual of that. If you can imagine yourself celebrating having achieved that big goal and as you're celebrating that big goal and feeling the feelings of having achieved this goal in your body, if you're not yet feeling those feelings, inviting them into your body now, just imagining. When we ask ourselves to imagine it, it can be a beautiful access point, doesn't create too much resistance because we're just imagining it, but actually you are being it.

And now from this energy space, this is where you are, would be asking yourself, how would I be showing up now with this energy? Embodying this energy. What habits does this version of me have? What thoughts is this version of me thinking?

What is the energy that this version of me who has achieved this goal? Feel inside of myself. And also, what is the energy that I am emanating? What are other people getting to experience? What are they feeling from my energy when I am in this energy space of having achieved this beautiful, big dream?

To take this a step further, I would love you to choose one small habit that reflects this identity. It could be showing up confidently on social media. It could be blocking time for creativity. It could be committing to doing something like sending your newsletter on Twitter. A regular basis, something that you might've let slip that you might not be doing right now.

It could also be something like making time to meditate before your work day. It might be five minutes. It could be two minutes, but prioritizing that it could be, I become somebody who always moves in the morning. It could be you have a song that you use to signal that it's the start of your working day.

It switches on your energy, so you're ready to go. You're ready to step into this success identity. I wonder what you're going to choose. And in fact, I would love to hear what you do choose. You can send me a message on Instagram. I am at Kerri Rowett. And this reminds me of a quote from James Clear's book, Atomic Habit.

I referenced this book last week as well. And the quote says, change your identity and your outcomes will follow. Who you believe you are, shapes what you achieve. And I'm quite sure you can find examples of how that has played out for you in your life. When you see yourself as someone who is fit and who exercises, that is a very different identity to someone who's trying to exercise, right?

It's the same as in our business. So find an identity that you already embody, that you feel proud of, that you feel really aligned with. And then map that across to your business, who you believe you are, shapes what you achieve. Number four, hold your vision lightly and respond. Don't react. This is a big risk that I see fixating on. The outcome and really thinking about that outcome and stressing about the outcome. Worrying that we're going to feel bad if we don't achieve the outcome.

Worrying about what it means about us if we don't achieve the outcome. And so we want to hold our vision lightly. We want to be open to making changes, to being agile. But without having to abandon the goal, you can still hold that vision. And you can be flexible about the way it comes to fruition.

Sometimes I can also see people getting really fixated on the timeline. And so right at the top of this episode, I said, if you always are writing your income goal as your password, and it's never coming to fruition, if there is no progress at all, that's a problem. If you are popping in your income goal as your password, and then you feel bad about it, and you think, Why haven't I achieved that yet?

This is so annoying. I should have achieved that ages ago. That is a very different energy to popping in your income goal as your password and connecting with that desire. Of course, your goal does not have to be an income goal. That goes without saying. But imagining Yourself in that energy, how it's going to feel when you have achieved that noticing the progress that you've already made and that you will continue to make taking actions that are aligned with that very different energy.

And I should reference, of course, that the first person who put me on to having income goals as your password was my friend, Denise Duffield Thomas, I did her second ever round of her money bootcamp back in 2012. Love Denise's work. So we want to become that person who achieves this kind of goal. And we want to like who we are on the way to achieving it.

And so we want to feel like I am moving forward. I am focused, but I'm also agile. And we can see a redirection. As a good thing, as I said, we can sometimes fixate on the timeline, but depending on your goal, unless it's related to a very specific event, or there is a reason why that timeline is important, often the timeline doesn't matter so much.

If the dream is big enough, compelling enough, it matters enough to us, it often doesn't matter whether we're going to achieve it in six months, 12 months, two years, sometimes even five years. Of course, if we are stagnating and there is a no progress, that's a different thing. We may not be finding that goal actually very motivating, but.

If we are really clearly seeing that vision and we're doing it and creating it for the right reasons, we are truly aligned with it and we're going to get there in the end, sometimes that can really give us some permission to also enjoy where we are right now and to feel good about the process of moving towards that.

And allowing it to take the amount of time that it takes. Often, when a goal takes longer than we desire, and then we look back and we reflect, We can often see the reasons why it took longer. Maybe there was an event that happened in our life that we really needed to take time and focus on. Maybe the path we were on wasn't so aligned and we did need to change that.

So of course it took longer. Maybe we can clearly see if we had got there faster, it would have been in a certain way that potentially could have burnt us out, ended up being misaligned. caused us health issues, made us less happy. So trust that when you arrive, when you have achieved that big goal, it'll probably all make sense and you'll be able to look back and understand why it took the time that it took and allow yourself that grace and that perspective.

Number five. shift your frequency. Obviously, this is something that I really love to do. It's a big part of the work that I'm doing with my clients. I use so many different tools, kinesiology, Reiki. And a personal note, if you don't have, particular modalities or particular tools, you can use simple things like essential oils, music, mantra.

There are so many ways that we are able to shift our frequency, shift our vibration, and to allow ourselves to feel more positive, happier, lighter. In this moment, and I'm going to give you the experience of this right now. I'm going to do some Reiki for you. So this is going to be beautiful. And I believe I'm going to invite you again to place your hands at your solar plexus, your stomach area.

And I'm going to do some Reiki for you and indeed for the whole group. So what I would like you to do is to tune into your big dream. It is okay if you don't have the full picture of this big dream right now, but allow yourself to connect with the big dream that you are able to connect with in this moment.

And so perhaps it does have an element of money, like it might have an income goal. Aspect to it and continues to build it out from there. How does this look in a lifestyle sense? How are you showing up? Who are you being? Where are you? What are your relationships like if you've got children? What are your relationships with your children like?

How are they flourishing and thriving in their unique way? Individual ways. How are you feeling? How is your health? How do you feel about your work?

I'm just breathing as you are, allowing yourself to connect to this vision that you have. And in this moment you don't need to define a particular timeline around it. This is a big dream.

It's the energy of the big dream. It's the energy of inspiration, aspiration, desire. And it's so much more about how it is that you're going to feel and who it is that you get to be. And the most beautiful thing about that is you get to feel like that now. And you get to be that version of you now. Those things are fully within your control.

So as your hands are at your solar plexus, allowing yourself to imagine that and to feel those feelings you have until they are feelings that you do have. And again, to connect to the identity of who you'll be. And then allowing yourself to be that person.

And anything that is material in nature or an experience that you desire to have, allowing those things to feel light, to feel playful.

Imagine if it's all coming, it's all unfolding, it can feel beautiful, expansive. And you can inspire so many people along the way with how it is that you move towards your big dreams. And all of the permission that you give others to do the same. You don't even need to say anything. Your energy is giving them the permission.

A deeper breath and releasing. Beautiful. Thank you so much for spending this time with me. So the energetics of achieving your big dreams.
